The reception is the first place most people see in the Garden. It is accessible through a series of stairs that lead you beneath the ground, into the garden proper. The stairs themselves are well lit, and next to them is a lift to enable access for those who may be disabled or bringing in injured. The lift itself is large enough to allow more then one person in it – the maximum is 4 and one wheelchair, 3 and one stretcher or 6 if there are no stretchers or wheelchairs needed.
Once you enter the reception proper you will see it is a spacious light area, with no signs of it being underground, apart from the lack of natural light. Even so that has been replaced by lights that emulate natural lights intensity to keep the place from seeming too sterile an environment.
You can almost always find some one around in the reception, indeed there's more then likely going to be two or three people hanging around and often more then that. The reception is also where SeeD cadets meet to be placed into the groups for field exams and training exercises to get used to working in a team either on the island itself or externally in the case of field exams.
Finally this is where SeeD get briefed when sent out on missions. As you can see the reception area is a vital hub of activity.
